Introduction

Spider Tanks is just one of many games that Gala games is building. It is one of the earlier playable games that will soon launch its utility token. It’s a customizable MOBA game where players build tanks and battle with other players through various game modes. It is heavily PvP focused.

  1. Each tank part is customizable and upgradeable

  2. Internal renting system to match tank owners to pilots

  3. It is one of multiple gaming systems that is built on the Gala Games platform

Market Design

Competitors

As this is a MOBA brawler game with a blockchain aspect, Thetan Arena comes to mind as a direct competitor to spider tanks. Web2 competitors are League of Legends, DOTA2, and Mobile Legends.

Player Archetypes

Killers: Spider Tanks is heavily PvP oriented. All of its game modes are geared towards player interaction and competition, a feature that the Killer player type will enjoy.

Socialisers: Team gameplay is incentivized in the ecosystem, paving the way for guilds to be present in the future. But even if guilds won’t be introduced in the game, its team gameplay is enough for the socializer player type to enjoy the game.

Miners: a cryptocurrency will soon be introduced in the game. Since this is free to play with a rental system in place, the miner player type will really enjoy the game.

Investors: There are a lot high value assets that the investor class can invest in to earn passive income. Owning maps, worlds, or factories are options available for the investor player type.

Mechanism Design

PvP is the main feature of Spider Tanks. It has three different game modes all involving player to player interaction through skilled gameplay.

Deathmatch

Deathmatch is a complete anhelation of the opposing team. Each kill the your team gets equals to a single point for the team. The winner will be the team scoring the most points.

Capture the Flag

There will be a single flag placed on the map where the team that holds the flag for the longer period of time will be declared the winner. Holding the flag, however, attracts attention from the other team.

Capture the Chicken

Chickens are scattered all over the map. Each player to capture as many chickens as they can and place those chickens in a barrel while avoiding enemy tanks looking to kill you as you hunt or deposit some chickens. The team with the most chickens deposited is the winner.

Token Design

Drivers

The demand for $GALA will be mainly based on the demand of all the games inside its ecosystem, The demand for $SILK will depend on the stickiness of the game Spider Tanks, as well as the need to upgrade parts.

Monetary Policy

Each year, on the 21st of July, the distribution of GALA will be halved. For example, beginning on July 21st of 2022, the daily distribution of GALA will be 8,561,643 instead of 17,123,286.

Risks

Systematic Risk

Lack of a consolidated whitepaper can turn off some players or investors as a lot of information is scattered in different places.

Potential Solution

Create a whitepaper to consolidate the information

Idiosyncratic Risk

There might be too many rewards given out during gameplay as there are three levels of passive income being generated by the game (through map owning, planet owning, and factory owning). This can cause token inflation in the long run especially if there are not enough sinks in the game for players to use.

Potential Solution

To mitigate this, the team can put a cap on the total earnings these NFT holders can acquire, create new sinks specific to the investor class, find an avenue to promote the reinvestment of the token (maybe through asset depreciation).

Conclusion

Spider Tanks is just one of many games that Gala games is building. It is one of the earlier playable games that will soon launch its utility token. Spider Tanks is heavily PvP oriented. All of its game modes are geared towards player interaction and competition. Team gameplay is incentivized in the ecosystem, paving the way for guilds to be present in the future.
