Introduction

Nifty league is a 2d pixel art metaverse that is looking to build multiple experiences that can be accessed by purchasing their DEGEN NFTs. The current game that is accessible to the community is Nifty Brawler, Nifty League’s version of the popular game, Super Smash Bro.

High-Level Token Summary

  • $NFTL is the native token for Nifty League

  • Earn through gameplay, trade on sushi swap, payment for Rentals, staking rewards

  • Used for Governance, payment, in-game rewards, Staking rewards, character naming

  • Uncapped with an initial supply at 1,000,000,000

Market Design

Player Archetypes:

  • Killers: Killers will be the main player type in this economy as there is only one game currently built on the ecosystem and its a PvP 2D brawler style of game.

  • Miners: Miners are also present in the game because of the earn aspect it has. Players are rewarded $NFTL from interacting with the ecosystem, something that the miner player type can take full advantage of.

  • Investors: Another game currently in development is their Niftyverse, which will have a land component to it. The land component is something attractive for the investor player type looking to make some passive income.

Mechanism Design

The concept of Nifty League is having multiple games built and accessed using the same NFTs. The first game built on their protocol is Nifty Smashers, which takes inspiration from Nintendo’s Super Smash Bros franchise.

  • Players try to hit their opponents with bats in the hopes of killing the opponent in order to score a point.

  • The terrain of the map plays a factor in battle.

  • Games range from 2 to 4 players, with the player with the most points or the first player reaching the goal number of points wins.

Nifty Tennis, Nifty Cart, and Nifty Royale are other games that the team is looking to develop to add on top of the existing ecosystem.

Token Design

Monetary Policy

  • The main highlight in terms of the protocol’s monetary policy is their uncapped $NFTL token. A unique feature is also allocating $NFTL tokens to holders of their Degen NFT. There are also earning bonuses associated with gameplay that affect the emission of their $NFTL supply, and not the overall quantity of tokens minted.

$NFTL Token Allocation

  • An initial allocation of nearly 1,000,000,000 $NFTL tokens was allocated with majority of the tokens going to emissions to those who own DEGEN NFTs, P2E emissions, and mint bonuses. 10M goes to the team, 133.33M goes to investors, 100M for Dao treasury, 36.5M for liquidity and 7M for community giveaways.

Risks

Systematic Risk:

  • Though there is nothing wrong with having a lot of mini games inside the ecosystem, it might just cause a problem in overall stickiness of the playerbase to the entire project because of the arcade-like feel to the games.

  • Have one core gameplay loop to focus on that players will want to keep coming back to and interact with to keep players inside the economy while still continuing to build multiple experiences to attract more users.

Idiosyncratic Risk:

  • The uncapped nature of their native token is a cause of concern as this can be a cause of fluctuations in the price of the token, as well as the governance capabilities, in the future.

  • Settle on a fix cap of the token and adjust prices on their internal marketplaces to the actual dollar value of the NFTs being sold.

Conclusion

Nifty League is a Free-To-Play system lets you experience the whole game with one free pet, but users would need to purchase 2 NFT pets in order to withdraw the utility token. $NFTL is the native token for Nifty League and is used for Governance, payment, in-game rewards, Staking rewards, and character naming.
